Jeff Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist and ceramicist known for his dynamic work in both sculpture and wheel-thrown ceramics. Over a teaching career spanning more than 30 years, he instructed at colleges and institutions across the U.S., helping shape generations of ceramic artists. His work has been exhibited in galleries nationwide, and his techniques have been featured in leading ceramics textbooks for their technical clarity.

While clay has remained a constant throughout his life, Jeff’s creative practice also spans metalwork, painting, and even boatbuilding—each material informing the others in a constantly evolving dialogue. Now retired from teaching, Jeff continues to pursue his studio work with the same balance of innovation and tradition that defined both his art and his decades in the classroom.
