What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Accepted Answer

SIX WEEK COURSES - SIX WEEK COURSES - For a full refund, minus a $30 processing fee, you must cancel at least 10 days prior to the start date of your class. If less than 10 days, you will receive a 50% refund, minus a $30 processing fee. No refunds given when cancelled within 72 hours of your class start date.

ONE TIME CLASSES - Non-refundable. Class credit given when notified at least 7 days before your class start time minus a $20 processing fee/person. Credit does not expire. You are welcome to pass along your reservation to friends/family if you can't make it.

When will my work be ready for pickup?

We know you’re excited to see your finished piece! Work is typically ready 3–6 weeks after your class. Ceramic firing is a careful, time-consuming process, and we wait until our kilns are full before firing to ensure efficiency. You'll receive an email notification as soon as your work is ready for pickup. Thanks so much for your patience!

Can I make-up a missed class?

Generally no due to limited space. However, if we have an spot open for you in another class that same week, we may be able to accommodate. The first and last class are mandatory to attend. Please email hello@kollektivclaystudio.com.

Do you offer outside firing services?

Accepted Answer

No, our kilns are reserved for our members, students, and staff.

Question 5

How should I come ready for class?

Clay won't stain your clothes, but we still recommend coming in something you don't mind getting a bit muddy :) We have aprons for you! Long hair should be tied back, and short nails are definitely recommended (more so for wheel throwing).

As a student, can I come to the studio outside of class time?

Yes! In fact, we encourage that you do. Feel free to come and practice during our student open studio hours listed in our Studio Guidelines: www.kollektivclaystudio.com/studioguidelines

Do you offer kids classes?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally! We currently do not have regularly scheduled kids classes. Our six week courses are open to ages 18+. Ages 15+ are welcome to join our one time classes when accompanied by a guardian. For children younger than that, please get in touch about private classes!

What's parking like?

Accepted Answer

There is metered parking out front on Piedmont Ave, and a metered public parking lot at the CVS down the street. There's also unmetered residential parking around too (2 hour limit). We suggest coming a few minutes early to ensure you arrive to class on time! 
DO NOT use the parking app to pay - they occasionally give tickets with this method and it's a hassle to go through the dispute process!

Is there somewhere to park my bike?

There are bike racks two doors down from us in front of Cato's Ale House.

Can I bring a guest to the studio?

We do not allow guests at this time. We want Kollektiv to be a distraction-free space for our students and members to create.

Can I bring my furry friend?

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have any pets in our space :(

What can I expect to make in one time classes?

Accepted Answer

This completely depends on your skill level and class type.Handbuilding- The world is your oyster! You have total freedom over what you make. You can make something functional, sculptural, or combine the two!Wheel Throwing- The clay is boss here! Wheel throwing takes lots of practice, so think of it as playing with mud, and you'll be happy with whatever you end up making :) Small cups and bowls, trinket dishes, and planters are common items for beginners!
